The problem
Academy’s catalog is large and high intent. Shoppers know the brand, size, or deal they want, but finding it on a product landing page meant working through a filter experience that hid the signal.
The job was to make sort and filter feel quick: see what is on, change it, and get back to the product grid.
The approach
I designed a quick filter bar on the listing, plus a full Sort & Filters panel for deeper work. Selected brands and fulfillment options stay visible as chips. Store pickup is a first class filter, not a buried setting. Long lists like brand get search.
- A persistent quick filter bar for sort, brand, size, color, and deals
- Selected filter chips so the current query is always readable
- Nearby store filtering for get it today and pickup
- A searchable Sort & Filters panel for high cardinality facets
The outcome
Customers can filter and sort product landing pages with less friction: an easier path from a crowded grid to the pair, brand, or size they came for.
